It's Showtime - 17 August 2008

On Sunday August 17 my wife and her band of helpers (which of course includes me!) will again be staging 'It's Showtime' which is an Old Tyme Rally plus a bit more, to raise funds for the Little Havens Childrens Hospice. The venue this year is Purleigh Halt, Barons Lane, Purleigh, near Chelmsford, Essex. The event includes all the usual exhibits - Old tractors, stationery engines, commercial vehicles, classic cars, motorcycles etc. - as well as a craft marquee, umpteen outside stalls, auto jumble stalls etc. There is a music marquee with free musical entertainment to suit all tastes, plus belly dancers! The event also includes a dog show (with novelty classes open to all), heavy horses giving ploughing demonstrations, and pre-65 motorcycle trials demonstrations. Also on the motorcycle front, there will be a number of club stands (FBOC very welcome). There is a main ring with something going on all day. In short, a great family day out. I should also mention numerous food outlets and ample good quality loos.
