Falcon 67 Shocks

Post by auroraman on Mon Jul 14, 2008 5:28 am

I can't get the wretched things apart to replace the seals! Can anyone help or suggest where I could get the units refurbished? The lower shrouds are in poor condition also and probably need to be replaced. I'd appreciate any advice.

hi auroraman
i take it you have drained the oil , the next step would be removing the retaining bolts at the bottom of the forks, remove the top filler plug screws, now withdraw the lower suspension with springs intact, lubricate upper and lower bush before rebuilding them, or youleave the top in and with draw the bottom only by unsrcewing the lower susp,if you dont have a book let me know and i could email you a pic of the front suspension.
all the best
cheers willie cheers
ps as for having them overhauld you could try villiers services at 01384 265797 or email them on villiersservices@lineone.net

Falcon shocks

Thanks, Willie. Should have mentioned- it's the rear shocks I'm having trouble with, although I do have to check out the front end anyway. If you do have an exploded view it would be very much appreciated. no urgency, as I'm still stripping bits for repainting. Cheers, Tony.

Normaly you would apply prssure the the top outer cover and when it goes down remove 2 cotters a little like a valve cotter. Then the top cover and spring would be free to remove. Your normaly left with a damper that lookes like a small car one but the ones I have seen dont come apart any more that that and were sealed. I bought my pair for just over £40.00 for my falcon 87
